Auto Glass Repair & Replacement

Glass Repair FAQ

1. Is there a difference between repair and replacing auto glass?

Yes. Glass Doctor encourages repairing rather than replacing any repairable windshield damage using proprietary windshield repair technology. Stone damage which can be covered with a dollar bill is often restorable with this technology. Should the windshield need to be replaced, your installation specialist follows strict standards and procedures to be confident your new windshield is safely installed.

2. Does Glass Doctor just fix windshield glass, or other kinds of glass?

While we are well known for quality in repairing and replacing auto glass windshields, back glass and side window glass, many Glass Doctor Stores also provide services for home and business like windows, shower doors, glass shelving and mirrors. Call your local Glass Doctor for advice.

3. Does Glass Doctor use DOT (Department of Transportation) -certified glass when doing replacements?

We not only use DOT-certified glass, all of our replacement glass products are furnished by OEM quality manufacturers...the same folks who make the glass for the vehicle manufacturer. We inspect each piece for optical clarity and quality prior to installation as well.

4. Can Glass Doctor provide services to meet my demanding schedule?

We sure can. We can also offer Mobile Service, sending an installation specialist to your vehicle, or we'll be happy to pick and deliver your vehicle when the work is completed.

8. What if I don't have full glass coverage?

If you don't have full glass coverage, or if you have a deductible, you may need to pay a portion when you pick up your vehicle.

9. Are your installation specialists certified?

Not only are most of Glass Doctor installation specialists certified by the National Glass Association (NGA), our specialists also pursue SmarTech TM certification levels exceeding the NGA's certification standards and they participate in on-going field seminars, workshops and computer based training.
